Dr Joy Desai trained in his undergraduate and postgraduate period at the BJ Medical College, Ahmedabad with a spate of gold medals to his credit, achieving a position within the first three ranks always. He completed his neurology DNB at the Jaslok Hospital and Research Centre, Mumbai and proceeded to the Royal London Hospital, London UK for a three year neurology fellowship. He then trained in clinical epileptology at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in 2000.
